In April 2025 the York City Recreation Department installed three bike racks, commemorating TRG’s founder, Tom Austin. The bike racks are located along the York County Heritage Rail Trail, behind the Colonial Courthouse, between Market and Philadelphia Streets. The bike racks were donated by TRG to honor the memory of our company’s founder who was an avid bike rider. Sadly, Tom passed away on November 19, 2024 after a 20 month battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Tom was always passionate about York City having been instrumental in numerous City projects such as the King Street Bike Lane, George Street Pedestrian and Bike Safety Improvements, and numerous Pedestrian Signal (RRFB) projects. Tom was also a past board member of the York County Heritage Rail Trail Committee. Tom’s family selected a Kelly-green color for the bike racks as a nod to Tom’s favorite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles. We know Tom would definitely agree…“It’s a great day for a bike ride.”
