Daniel Thornton, Senior Associate at TRG, attended the Signal Control Products, LLC conference regarding the latest in signal technology in the traffic industry on May 10th, 2023. The conference discussed the most current designs for pedestrian pushbuttons (pictured) to assist all pedestrian types as well as a new app that can help with the sight restricted pedestrian.
The conference also included a section about the newest Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFB) and other beacons (pictured) that are solar powered and can communicate without hard-wired connections. Other technology presented at the conference were Miovision’s newest video detection systems for traffic signals and the latest software to detect vehicles at intersections as well as providing traffic counts.
